Comments: Type locality, Hauraki Gulf, North Island, NMNZ P 662 (holotype of Squalus griffini, 97.2 cm TL, adult female). Known from the North and South Islands of New Zealand and Chatham Rise north of the Subtropical Front; including north of New Zealand on Wanganella Bank, Norfolk and Louisville Ridges, and southern Kermadec Ridge to at least Raoul Island (Ref. 58444). Also Ref. 89422.
