Biologie     Fachlexikon (Englisch) (z.B. epibenthic)

It is found mainly over sandy beaches (Ref. 30558). It might become important in dams (Ref. 4967). It is a shoaling fish (Ref. 30558). Little is known about its ecology, except that it is an insectivore (Ref. 30558). The juvenile distribution suggests that breeding perhaps occurs in shallow areas, especially flooded pools at river edges, some of which are seasonal (Ref. 30558).
