Comments: Type locality, Ennur Fisheries Station, Madras, Tamil Nadu State, CAS-SU 41322 (holotype of Perulibatrachus aquilonarius, 19.14 cm SL) (Ref. 75581, 86922). The first specimen was collected at Madas to the north of Tuticorin, southeast coast of India, while the second specimen was caught by gillnet off Tuticorin, Gulf of Mannar at 10-30 m depth. Apparently widespread along the Indian coast (Ref. 86922).
