Comments: Type locality, Great Australian Bight, Western Australia, CSIRO H 175-01 (holotype of Pavoraja arenaria, 27.2 cm TL, juvenile male). Distributed from the Great Australian Bight off southern Australia, between south of Cape Leeuwin, Western Australia (34°59' S, 114°53' E), and off Portland, Victoria (38°42' S, 141°20' E), 192-712 m, with types mainly caught from 300-400 m).
