Inhabits pristine sections of clear, flowing, rocky streams strewn with logs and other woody debris. Life history and general biology are similar to that of the Murray cod; however, it has a slightly slower growth rate. Spawns in spring when water temperatures exceed 16°C (Ref. 44894).
