Remarks 'granadero', i.e., a spiny tree with red flowers producing the grenade fruit (thick skinned, several celled reddish berry) from Middle French 'pomegrenate' from Latin 'granata', 'granatus', i.e., seedy, from 'granum', i.e., grain (Ref. 27888); 'abisal', i.e., abyssal (of or relating to the bottom waters of the ocean depths; p. 47, Ref. 11978).
