Remarks 'serrivormer', i.e., sawed plowshare, from Latin 'serra', i.e., saw and Latin 'vomer', i.e., plowshare (Ref. 27838); 'à nageoire longue', i.e., long finned (in reference to the dorsal and anal fins which have more rays than in other northwestern Atlantic species). Also in Ref. 27545.
