Remarks The blackbar triggerfish is a food fish (in the late 90s) used for local consumption (subsistence, not sold) and commonly caught with traditional fishing gears. This fish has an unpleasant flavor and did not use to be a food fish (a few decades ago) when the catch was bountiful.
