Remarks | Kokuten-aohata (Ref. 559) was replaced by Yahazu-aohata since it was misapplied to the re-identified fish E. kupangensis (see Ref. 124622:45). 'yahazu' is derived from the bifurcation of the white interspace on the head, and 'Aohata' is the standard Japanese name for Epinephelus awoara (Temminck & Schlegel, 1842), which resembles both E. amblycephalus and E. kupangensis. |
